‘American Idol’ Auditions To Be Held At Walt Disney World
It was announced this week that ABC has picked up American Idol and will begin shooting a new season soon. TMZ reports the show “will shoot audition weeks at Walt Disney World in Orlando. We’re told there are 2 reasons:
— It promotes a huge brand within the Disney company — amusement parks.
— It’s way more cost-effective than travelling the show to various cities.
A source familiar with the deal tells (TMZ) there’s also talk of doing some of the auditions at Disneyland on the West Coast.

Disneyland is preparing for the launch of Summer of Heroes and the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
You can help Rocket rescue the Guardians of the Galaxy beginning Memorial Day Weekend at Disney California Adventure Park.
‘Happily Ever After’ Ready To Open At Magic Kingdom
Preparations are underway for Wishes, the Magic Kingdom’s longtime nighttime show, to close tomorrow night. Friday night, Disney will debut Happily Ever After Friday night. Disney Parks Blog will be streaming the show live.
In the mean time, Disney has released a new video with rehearsal footage that is sure to get anyone excited!
Disneyland Has Begun Re-filling ‘Rivers of America!’
The OC Register reports that, “Disneyland workers opened the valves and started filling the northern portion of the Rivers of America in Frontierland with water Friday.
That portion of the waterway was dammed off and drained early in 2016 as part of the “Star Wars” land project. The route for the river was also changed to allow more room for the new land, which opens in 2019.”
No word yet on specific opening dates for Rivers of America, Fantasmic, or The Disneyland Railroad.
Is ‘Journey To Imagination’ On The Chopping Block?
Journey To Imagination at Walt Disney World’s Epcot may be on the way out. This week WDWNT reported that the Disney’s post-visit survey now has a section with questions about Epcot’s OG character, Figment.
Questions like, “How familiar are you with Figment?” and “How much do you like Figment?”
Could Journey Into Imagination be on the way out?
Could Universal Studios Hollywood Get A Gondola System?
Walt Disney World’s as of yet unannounced, but widely confirmed Gondola system is set to connect two theme parks and multiple hotels at the southern end of property. It seems that other cities are looking to get in on the action.
Theme Park Insider reports that “Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti floated (uh, sorry?) the idea this weekend in an interview with a local TV station.” The idea is that a Universal Studios Hollywood gondola would hook up with the iconic “Hollywood” sign in Los Angeles’ Griffith Park. Visitors would park in Universal’s new ET parking structure and take a Gondola the two miles up to the sign.
This is totally hypothetical, but no less interesting as the path to the sign now is winding, tight, and often crowded residential streets.
Inside Pandora w/ Josh Solomon
Our pal, and YouTube rock star Josh Solomon was lucky enough to be one of the first to experience Pandora: The World of AVATAR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
We had to take this opportunity to pick Josh’s brain and he joined us to discuss his experience with the new land, just days before it opens to the public!
Disney Vacation Club Update
Simon’s husband Michael gives us an overview on what Disney Vacation Club actually is, and updates us on what’s happening at DVC right now, including available stays in the next 2 months, just in case you’re headed for Pandora!
Adam’s Disneyland Weekend
I grew up in Southern CA, and I try to get down for short vacations 2 or 3 times a year. Trips to Disneyland were a big part of my childhood, and mostly they were day trips like this one. My mom now lives in the mountains, so we got a hotel room for the night in Anaheim and met my brother, who lives a few miles from the park (both are AP holders). We had quite the #DisneyAsAnAdult experience!
